GENERAL AUDITIONS

General auditions will be held Tuesday, March 20 & Monday, March 26, 2012 in CALGARY.



You may apply if you have NOT been seen for a General Audition in the past two years (prior to January 2010).

* If you have been seen at a Theatre Calgary audition in the past two years, you are free and encouraged to send an updated resume and/or headshot for our records (but you will not qualify for an audition).



Audition requirements:

- Successful audition applicants will be asked to prepare two contrasting monologues, NO LONGER than 4 minutes combined total.

Only hardcopies of your headshot and resume will be accepted, no emails please.

- Only successful applicants will be contacted (the week of March 12) with an audition time slot.  Due to the volume of applications we receive, unfortunately not everyone who applies will get a timeslot.  We ask that you kindly not contact our office about the status of your submission.

- To aid in our scheduling, please indicate your availabilty for the audition dates (ie. if there is a date you cannot make, please let us know which day you are available if chosen).

- Our 2012/13 season will be announced in late February, please check back here for the date as it becomes available.

Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority.  CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.  Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement.  Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.

YOUTH AUDITIONS

Theatre Calgary accepts submissions from young actors (ages 7 - 15) year-round. When it comes time to audition for any child role, we refer to these submissions.

While all our casting is complete for this season (2011-12), we encourage submissions for our 2012-13 seaosn that will be announced in the spring.

Please include the following with your submission:
- A recent photo (school photos are ideal)
- A resume outlining any performing experience (school/community plays, choirs, etc), acting/singing/dance classes or camps, or special skills (instruments, gymnastics, etc)
- Parent/Guardian contact information (phone, email, address)
- Age of the child
