Reporting to the Director of Sales & Customer Service, the Sales & Customer Service Associate’s key responsibilities are to actively sell theatre tickets to New and Renewing Subscribers as well as to Single Ticket Purchasers and to provide the highest level of customer service while doing so.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES (Including but not limited to the following):

• Actively engages in selling Theatre Calgary Season Subscriptions and Single Tickets (by phone and/or in person) while adhering to the current Theatre Calgary marketing strategies and maintaining superb customer service levels.
• Is ( or quickly becomes) fluent on the Tessitura ticketing system in order to process and track purchases, ticket exchanges, ticket re-prints, etc.
• Keeps accurate and legible records (accounting, communications, pending files, etc.).
• Handles customer relations and patron inquiries in person and over the telephone in a manner that is not only respectful but which reflects the highest customer service standards.
• Becomes thoroughly familiar with all aspects of Theatre Calgary in order to provide patrons and potential customers with accurate information regarding the company, our productions, the theatre, policies and procedures etc.. These communications must be made with the primary goal of ensuring an ultimate customer experience.
• Actively participates in all incoming and outbound call campaigns as required.
• Actively participates in all facets of Sales campaigns as requested (selling, tracking, calling, printing, mailings, etc.).
• Performs other duties as required.

Reporting to the Communications Director, the Communications Coordinator plays a vital role in the implementation of Theatre Calgary’s audience, public, and media relations.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
• Ability to organize and create a social media plan and strategy.
• Ability to identify and help coordinate various media and promotional opportunities for our plays.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fluent, experienced and original in use of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and others.
• Knowledge of website and content management systems a major asset.
• Technical proficiency – Use of Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Word, and Excel are considered an asset.
• Extremely outgoing and personable. Excellent people skills and ability to work closely with media and artists.
• Background and knowledge of theatre and performing arts considered an asset.
• Ability to think and respond quickly to variety of print, media and social media situations.
• Be able to carry out the following and other tasks as assigned.

OUR 2014-15 GENERAL AUDITIONS HAVE PASSED.  We thank everyone who submitted. 


Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority.  CAEA members: please bring your membership card to any audition.  Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement.  Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.



We are currently not accepting any resumes/headshots for youth actors (ages 7 -15).  Please check back in summer 2014 for more information on submitting.
