SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK


Theatre Calgary will be holding auditions in Calgary on Tuesday, April 29 and Wednesday, April 30, 2014* for the company of Shakespeare in the Park (SITP) which will perform The Comedy of Errors at Prince’s Island Park.  (*Potential callbacks will be at the end of the day on Wed Apr 30.)

Program/Production Dates:
First day of program  -  Wednesday, May 28, 2014
First day of rehearsal  -  Monday, June 2, 2014
Opening  -  Thursday, June 26, 2014
Closing  -  Saturday, August 9, 2014
Last day of program  -  Wednesday, August 13, 2014

QUALIFICATIONS required (no exceptions):
•    Must be a graduate of a theatre program at a post-secondary institution within Alberta.
•    Must have graduated in 2014 or 2013.
•    Cannot be a registered Equity apprentice – can’t have signed any type of Equity contract.
•    Cannot have been in SITP in a previous year.

PLEASE PREPARE:
•    Two contrasting Shakespeare monologues

SUBMISSIONS:
Please submit headshots and resumes to Susan McNair Reid, Theatre Calgary, via email by the end of day Tuesday, April 22, 2014.  Please use “SITP audition submission” in the subject line.  Successful applicants will be contacted and provided with further details.

GENERAL AUDITIONS


OUR 2014-15 GENERAL AUDITIONS HAVE PASSED.  We thank everyone who submitted. 

 

Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority.  CAEA members: please bring your membership card to any audition.  Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement.  Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.

 


YOUTH AUDITIONS


We are currently not accepting any resumes/headshots for youth actors (ages 7 -15).  Please check back in summer 2014 for more information on submitting.
