Where is Theatre Calgary located?
Theatre Calgary is a resident company in the EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts, a downtown multidisciplinary arts centre that takes up the whole city block bound by 9th Ave to the south, Macleod Trail to the east, 8th Ave and Olympic Plaza to the north, and 1st St SE to the west. We’re steps away from the Calgary Tower, the restaurants and bars of 8th Ave, the C-Train on 7th Ave, and many of the city’s major downtown hotels. Our administration office address is 220, 9th Ave SE.
How do I get there by public transit?
EPCOR CENTRE is a two-minute walk from the newly redesigned City Hall C-Train station—just walk one block south on Macleod Trail to get to the theatre. Both C-Train lines stop at this station, in either direction of travel. Several buses also stop within a block of the EPCOR CENTRE, including routes 1, 7, 9, 10, 24, and 112. Where can I park
Underground parking is available at the EPCOR CENTRE—the parkade is accessed via a left turn off of northbound Macleod Trail SE, just north of 9th Ave. This parkade is closed and locked at midnight. Other parkades connected to the EPCOR CENTRE by the +15 walkway include Civic Plaza parkade off 9th Ave east of Macleod Trail SE, Telus Convention Centre parkade off 1st St SE south of 7th Ave, and Palliser Square parkade off 9th Ave east of 1st St SW. Where in EPCOR CENTRE do Theatre Calgary performances take place?
Theatre Calgary performances take place in the Max Bell Theatre. The lobby entrance is located on the ground floor on the southeast corner of the EPCOR CENTRE (240, 9th Ave. SE - the corner Macleod Trail and 9 Ave SE).
Where in EPCOR CENTRE are the Theatre Calgary administrative offices?
Our administrative offices are located on the +15 level of the EPCOR CENTRE. From the centre court, walk up the main stairs, go through the glass doors, turn right, and walk along the +15 walkway for about 30 metres. We’re on the left-hand side.
Do you have wheelchair seating?
Yes, we have a limited amount of wheelchair seating available for each performance. Please call our sales office at (403) 294-7447 to book.
Do you offer assistance to hearing-impaired guests?
Yes, we have a limited number of assistive listening devices for the hard of hearing. Please speak to our front-of-house staff at the coat check on the lobby level.
Is there elevator access within the theatre?
can reach the Orchestra, Mezzanine, and First Balcony sections by
elevator. The Second Balcony section can only be accessed by a staircase
up from the First Balcony.
