Shakespeare In The Park

Directed by JOSEPH ZIEGLER

“O, Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?”

Celebrate summer romance with one of the most beautiful plays ever written. Theatre Calgary and Mount Royal University present William Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed lovers and forbidden desire. Enjoy an evening of poetry and passion and support the next generation of Alberta theatre artists.

Last summer we began this historic collaboration with MRU and wonderful emerging artists.  Enjoy an evening in the park among the trees, cheering on bright new faces and listening to the immortal words of our greatest playwright.  – Dennis

FROM THE CALGARY HERALD EDITORIAL PAGES, JULY 16, 2012:

"We have so much great culture. I had the most awesome evening at Mount Royal University/Theatre Calgary's Shakespeare in the Park production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. It's at Prince's Island Park, which is the most amazing setting for this play, and the performers are so good.

It's an absolute must-see this summer and is on until August, so check out these vibrant emerging actors who take this play to a new level. Kudos to everyone who makes this production happen. Calgary should be so proud!"
