GENERAL AUDITIONS - 2015-16


Theatre Calgary will be holding General Auditions on:
TUESDAY APRIL 7 and WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8, 2015, in Calgary. 

Artists are invited to submit their headshots and resumes for General Audition consideration who:

•    Have completed a post-secondary training program or have previous professional acting experience (as an adult).

•    Have not been on the Theatre Calgary stage since 2006.

•    Have not had a general audition at Theatre Calgary since 2012.

Please prepare two contrasting monologues – one classical and one modern, of which one is tragic and one lighthearted – totalling no more than 4 minutes.  It does not matter which one is tragic and which one is lighthearted.

All submissions (for both audition dates) must be received or postmarked by
SUNDAY, MARCH 22, 2015. 


Only successful applicants will be contacted with an audition time slot.  If you have any questions about what you need to prepare, please email Susan McNair Reid, Company Manager.

*If you have limited availability for these days, please include that information in your submission for ease of scheduling. We will do our best, but may not be able to accommodate all requests. Unfortunately we do not accept video submissions for our general auditions.

*If you do not require a General but wish to send your updated headshot and/or resume for our files, please feel free to do so to the same address/email as above, subject line “UPDATED HEADSHOT/RESUME”.

Our 2015/16 season has been announced.  Dates and information can be found here.

Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority.  CAEA members: please bring your membership card to any audition.  Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement.  Equity members cast in any production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.



YOUTH AUDITIONS


We are currently not accepting any resumes/headshots for youth actors (ages 7 -15).  Please check back in summer 2014 for more information on submitting.

MAX BELL THEATRE BARTENDERS


Theatre Calgary’s bartenders provide attentive and positive service to create exceptional guest experiences. Each bartender’s primary objective is to showcase Theatre Calgary as one of Canada’s foremost professional non-profit theatres, by exemplifying the highest level of customer service.

Reporting to the Event Services Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for:
•  Taking drink and snack orders from guests, present drink menus, make specific recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
•  Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with Theatre Calgary’s standard drink recipes and AGLC regulations.
•  Accepting payment, processing debit and credit cards and making change.
•  Various other bar duties such as preparing garnish and stocking.

Qualifications:
•  Must be 18 years of age.
•  Poses current ProServ certification, or be willing to obtain within 30 days.
•  Have a positive and optimistic attitude and work well in a team.
•  Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
•  Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 – 25 pounds.
•  Be able to work unsupervised.
•  Cash handling experience is an asset.
