- What safety protocols will Theatre Calgary implement for the 2021-2022 Season?

- How much do tickets cost?
Ticket prices vary on seat location, availability and show time. Prices start as low as $38 and average between $62 and $75.
- I noticed a processing fee on my single ticket order. What is it for?
Our nominal processing fee helps to cover incidental costs of business such as credit card fees and building fees as well as printing and postage for those who choose to have their tickets printed and posted.
As a benefit, subscribers never have to pay for our processing fees for their subscription(s) or any additional tickets they may purchase.
- Are there discounts for children, students or seniors?
School groups can get discounted tickets to attend weekday student matinee performances. Please call our Box Office team at 403.294.7447, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT, for more details or by email.
Patrons aged 65 and older can buy discounted tickets for Senior Saturday matinees. Seniors Saturdays are held on the third Saturday of each show’s production run. Please call our Box Office team at 403.294.7447 to ask about availability.
We strive to make prices accessible for everyone – children and students included – starting from just $38.
- Can I bring my baby to a performance?
Theatre Calgary’s recommended age is 6 years and up. Babies and toddlers can be disruptive to fellow patrons, so we’re unable to admit babes-in-arms. Children need their own tickets, and we ask that they’re able to sit comfortably in their own seat for the show’s duration while being respectful to their neighbours. Please review age recommendations for each of our shows.
- Do you have special rates for groups?
- Are there Rush Ticket performances?
While we don’t have a Rush Ticket program, there are a lot of affordable ways to attend. Tickets start as low as $38 for all preview performances, along with Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday performances throughout the run. We also have last-minute deals for select shows.
- Are you offering Pay-What-You-Can performances?
Due to limited capacity, we will not be offering Pay-What-You-Can tickets for the 2021-2022 season. We are hoping to bring Pay-What-You-Can tickets in future seasons.
We offer a limited number of Pay-What-You-Can tickets for each production’s first Saturday matinee (2 p.m.).
Starting one (1) hour before the performance begins (1 p.m.), a limited number of seats will be available at the Max Bell Theatre Box Office. These cash-only tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability. These tickets tend to sell out quickly, and seating is typically located on the Second Balcony level.
- How will I receive my tickets?
There are several easy ways to get your tickets:
Theatre Calgary recommends taking advantage of our new Mobile Ticket option. Your Mobile Tickets will be available through the Upcoming Performance page in your Theatre Calgary account. Please request for this option at the time of purchase. Please check out our Mobile Ticketing FAQ for more information.
PLEASE NOTE: All online purchases default to the Mobile Ticket option.
Tickets purchased through Box Office can be mailed to you for free. Please note that if your performance is within ten (10) days of purchase, ticket mail-out may not be available. If that is the case, you may select the mobile ticket option or hold your tickets at the Box Office at the time of purchase.
Hold At Box Office
On the day of your performance, you can pick up your tickets at the Max Bell Theatre Box Office. The Max Bell Theatre Box Office opens one (1) hour before the performance starts.
- I haven't received my Mobile Tickets. What should I do?
After purchase, your Mobile Tickets will be available through the Upcoming Performance page in your Theatre Calgary account. You will also receive an email reminder at the same time. If your tickets are not appearing on your account, please call our Box Office team 403.294.7447, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
- What if I've lost my tickets?
No problem. To arrange a reprint of your tickets, please call our Box Office team 403.294.7447, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MST.
If the Box Office is already closed for the day or weekend, please bring ID with you when you come to the theatre and speak to our Box Office staff, who will be available starting one (1) hour before show time.
- I've purchased tickets but can’t attend the show due to illness. Can I get a refund?
In the event you are unable to attend your performance due to illness, we can issue a ticket refund. Our Box Office team will refund the face value of your tickets to your original method of payment. Ticket refund requests can be made by calling our Box Office team at 403.294.7447, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
PLEASE NOTE: Ticket refunds are available on a performance basis and do not extend to subscription packages.
- Can I exchange my tickets for a different performance?
Absolutely. If you’re unable to attend your scheduled performance, ticket holders can exchange their tickets free of charge. Tickets can only be exchanged for another performance of the same show. You may request a ticket exchange through the Upcoming Performance page in your Theatre Calgary account or by calling our Box Office team at 403.294.7447, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. MT.
PLEASE NOTE: It’s important to contact us at least two (2) business days prior to the original performance. Exchanges are subject to ticket availability for the new date. Ticket exchanges must be made within the production that they were purchased.
- Can I purchase a gift voucher for Theatre Calgary performances?
Live theatre makes a great gift. Our gift vouchers come in any amount, never expire and can be used toward tickets for a single show or a subscription. Our helpful Box Office team can craft the perfect gift package for your needs.

- Are performances ever cancelled due to extreme weather or other events?
Please consider the weather when planning your trip to the theatre. Shows are rarely cancelled. Unfortunately, we’re unable to exchange unused tickets if the show goes ahead as scheduled.
In the unlikely event of a cancellation, we’ll contact you by email as soon as possible to make other arrangements. When you buy your tickets and/or subscription, please make sure we have your current email address on file.
