in the Piazza
It’s Italy, 1953. Margaret Johnson and her daughter Clara are touring the sundrenched squares of Florence when a gust of wind carries Clara’s hat to the feet of a handsome Tuscan man. As this twist of fate blossoms into love, Margaret must decide whether to share a secret that may destroy her daughter’s happiness. A winner of six Tony Awards, this modern musical will take your breath away.
A gorgeous score and a boy-meets-girl story set in the piazzas of Florence and Rome? I’m in. We are presenting this in time for Mother’s Day because at the very heart of the piece is a graceful mother who does all that she can for her precious child. Bring Mom along to thank her for guiding you along the way. Uplifting.
The most intensely romantic score of any musical since West Side Story.
