Get ready for the hair-raising season with Theatre Calgary! Bring your costume and your imagination and enjoy a full day of Halloween-themed dramatic fun! Work with professional theatre artists to develop your own Halloween character and play ghostly drama games. Work with a makeup artist and costume designer to enhance your Halloween costume!

SPRING BREAK DRAMA CAMP

Calling all creative kids! Join Theatre Calgary for a week of drama games, scenes, and stories! A different special workshop each day adds fun and learning and can include music and movement, puppetry, clown, stage combat, acting, and more! Get creative, build skills, make friends and share your work at an end of camp presentation for family and friends!

SUMMER DRAMA PROGRAM

THEATRE GAMES SUMMER CAMP

Participants work with industry professionals to delve into a range of theatre arts, including acting and drama, puppetry, stage combat, circus, music, movement and more! Together, participants make a mini play and share the work at an end-of-camp presentation for family and friends! Get creative, build skills, make friends, and have fun!

SUMMER INTENSIVES

ACTING INTENSIVE

Deep-dive into character development, text analysis, scene study, auditioning 101, and acting technique in Theatre Calgary’s Acting Intensive for Teens. Participants will work on a group scene and a monologue. The program culminates in a mock-audition for Theatre Calgary casting and a sharing for family and friends!

MUSICAL THEATRE INTENSIVE

Train with the professionals at Theatre Calgary and sing, dance, and act in our two-week Musical Theatre intensive! Participants work with musical theatre repertoire to explore musical theatre skills, including story & character, vocal technique & training, singing solo & in a group, and movement & choreography, and then put it all together in a final performance! All levels welcome.

July 21 - August 1, 2025 (2 weeks, Monday - Friday)

Grades: Going into Grades 4 - 6 and 7 - 12

PLAYMAKING INTENSIVE

Put on a play from creation to performance! Participants work with professional artists while building skills in drama & acting, music & dance, and play creation/writing. This program emphasizes ensemble collaboration and individual artistic voice. Celebrate participants’ creativity and passion in a final show!

Theatre Calgary can bring an artist to your classroom. We can build a one session workshop, a week-long residency, or a weekly residency over an extended period. Term of engagement can be determined in collaboration with educators.

Coming to see a matinee? Enrich your experience by adding a workshop. Our Show Workshops explore themes of the play through theatre games. Students can enjoy exercises and games that relate to the play they will see.
 
Just want to come to the theatre? Book a workshop and a backstage tour! We offer part-day sessions (2.5 hours) and full-day sessions at the theatre.  
*Back stage theatre tours are available throughout the school year (not available on matinee days).
