Theatre Calgary, located in Arts Commons, is part of Calgary’s vibrant cultural district, within steps of art galleries, shopping, award-winning restaurants, and the historic district along Stephen Avenue. The Max Bell Theatre is located in 220 9th Ave SE in downtown Calgary, directly across the street from City Hall.

Best places to park:

City Hall (underground)

City Hall Parkade is located on the south side of City Hall on 9th Ave. S.E.
Travelling northbound on Macleod Trail, access to the parkade is a right-turn immediately onto 9th Avenue, and the parkade entrance is located on the north side of 9th Ave. a half block down after turning.
Travelling eastbound on 9th Avenue, access to the parkade will be from the left-hand lane just after you cross Macleod Trail North (where City Hall starts), and then left into the entrance a half block down.

Arts Commons (limited) parking is located at 829 Macleod Trail SE. The entrance is between 9th & 8th Avenues.
Travelling northbound on Macleod Trail, access to the parkade is a left-turn immediately after crossing 9th Avenue.
Travelling eastbound on 9th Avenue, access to the parkade will be from the left turning lane at Macleod Trail North, and then another left almost immediately again once on Macleod Trail northbound.

Palliser Square Parkade is located on the south side in the 100 block on 9th Avenue S.W.

Open-air Indigo lot

There is an open-air Indigo parking lot on the 200 block (on the south side) of 9th Avenue SE.
On weekdays, this parking lot is per-hour. On weekends, this lot charges a flat rate.

Street Parking

There are also some parking meters available nearby. These are free evenings after 6:00 pm and all-day on Sundays.

Public Transportation

To use public transportation, the C-Train LRT runs along 7th Ave, one block north of Arts Commons. If going eastbound, get off at either Centre Street Station or City Hall Station. If going westbound, get off at City Hall Station. Click here for more information and fares.
