THEATRE CALGARY AUDITIONS


Theatre Calgary is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, and operates within the jurisdiction of the Canadian Theatre Agreement. Artists cast in any production, regardless of CAEA standing, will be engaged under a CTA contract.


Artists who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given audition priority. Non-Equity artists will be seen when and if spaces are available.

  • 2026 General Auditions

    2026 GENERAL AUDITIONS

    Theatre Calgary will be holding General Auditions on February 27 & 28, 2026
    for Alberta-based performers only.

    GENERALS GUIDELINES:

    Musical Theatre Audition candidates should prepare two contrasting songs (16-32 bar cut) and a short monologue (no longer than 2 minutes). An accompanist will be provided so please bring sheet music (instead of a piano track). Theatre Audition candidates should prepare two contrasting monologues (no longer than 2 minutes each). Open Call Audition candidates can prepare either a musical theatre audition or a theatre audition.

    These General Auditions will be in-person, in CALGARY:

    - By appointment only Musical Theatre or Theatre Auditions – Friday, February 27 (10:00 am – 5:00 pm)
    - Open Call for either Musical Theatre or Theatre Auditions – Saturday, February 28 (in-person ‘first-come, first-served’ registration at 10:00 am for 11:00 am – 5:00 pm 10-minute timeslots).

    Auditions are open to Alberta-based artists and will be held in the Martha Cohen (ATP) Rehearsal Hall in Werklund Centre (formerly Arts Commons).

    Submission deadline is Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, at 5:00 pm (MT).
